Martin brings more than 25 years of investment experience within the Australian funds management industry to his role at Pentalpha.
Martin joined Pentalpha Investment Management in October 2018 as Director Investor Services, chiefly responsible for institutional relationships and client service. In January 2019, Martin assumed broader responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer, reporting to Pentalpha’s Executive Chairman.
Prior to joining Pentalpha, Martin was a member of the investment team of Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation for 9 years, firstly as Senior Investment Manager with responsibility for CSC’s $15b Australian and global public-market equity portfolios (7 years), followed by a broader investment management governance role including the stewardship-active ownership of CSC’s $45b fund-wide assets (2 years).
Prior to CSC, Martin was a consultant to the funds management and industry superannuation sectors for 3 years. Before this Martin was Head of Implemented Equities at Queensland Investment Corporation for 5 years, responsible for Australian equities multi-manager strategies and investment product in excess of $6 billion.
Before QIC, Martin’s investment experience included 7 years with Total Risk Management (a subsidiary of Willis Towers Watson and Commonwealth Funds Management previously). Martin's earlier career had its foundations in banking (Bankwest) and chartered accounting profession before that (EY).
